Here are the 14 best side dishes to serve with tuna.

1. Salad with dressing

Here’s something simple but adaptable for tuna steak. I love a good fish salad.

For tuna, try a simple salad with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions and dressing.

Of course, you can make your own version if you want something creamier or fruitier. N

However you prepare your salad, you can be sure that it will be a healthy and delicious accompaniment to your tuna steak.

2. Baked potatoes with lemon

No list of side dishes is complete without potatoes! It goes with almost everything, and there are so many ways to prepare it.

A good way to enjoy tuna is with potatoes and a little lemon to tone down the richness of the fish.

Add a little olive oil and a little rosemary and you have a great combination!

3. Garlic Fries

Here’s another option for potatoes: Garlic fries! It’s definitely not the healthiest option on this list, but let’s face it, it will probably be the most popular too!

With tuna, I like to add a little flavor by sprinkling garlic powder over it. You can try other flavors or even take the plunge!

4. Roasted vegetables with teriyaki sauce

Asian sauces are the BEST, so of course we’ll keep a place for them as one of the best side dishes you can try with tuna steak.

Roast the vegetables of your choice with teriyaki…. is a very easy sauce to make at home!

All you need is water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, and garlic, and you have the perfect touch of sweetness to make your meal amazing.

5. Stuffed peppers

Here’s another side dish you can get really creative with. Stuffed peppers are so much fun and go so well with almost any main dish.

When I eat them with fish, I like to add a creamy topping like quinoa or rice with onions, tomatoes, eggplant and maybe some cream cheese. Yummy!

6. Baked sweet potatoes

If you’re not a fan of potatoes, why not try sweet potatoes? It’s a delicious and healthy alternative, but just as easy to prepare.

To go with tuna, I like to cut them into thick strips, drizzle them with honey and fry them. This adds a sweetness to your fish that you are sure to enjoy.

7. Fried French beans

I love green beans because they are healthy, but everything is always better roasted.

With the tuna, I dip the green beans in tempura batter and bake them to brown a bit.

You can also do this with many other vegetables like asparagus or even eggplant.

Add a good cheese sauce for even more flavor. It’s a little sinful, but hey, it’s still vegetables, right?

8. Brown rice

If you’ve never eaten brown rice before, you need to start!

Brown rice is actually unpolished rice, which means it’s high in fiber and a healthier alternative to white rice.

Place the tuna steak on a bed of brown rice for a hearty and filling meal. You can even make brown rice with garlic. It’s delicious!

9. Vegetable skewers

Another great way to combine vegetables with tuna is to make vegetable skewers.

For the tastiest veggie kabobs, I like to brush them with a marinade of olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, salt and pepper before grilling or baking them!

There are so many vegetables you can use, but tomatoes, onions, eggplant, cucumbers are just a few of my favorites. Give it a try!

10. salt shavings

There is no doubt that the potato is the king of all parties. Try lightly salted tuna steak chips for extra flavor and crunch.

You can also season your chips with other flavors like garlic, barbecue, parmesan, or even make a dip. You can never go wrong with this site!

11. Pasta salad

If a regular green salad is too light for you, why not make it a pasta salad? For a classic Italian pasta salad, add rotini or whatever short pasta you have, cherry tomatoes and salami.

cubes, olives, red onion and parsley with a vinaigrette sauce.

You can also make a vegetarian version by omitting the salami, which I actually like best when combined with tuna. Healthy, filling and delicious!

12. Mushrooms stuffed with cheese

A slight variation on the more common stuffed peppers are cheese mushrooms.

Doesn’t that sound delicious? This side dish takes a little more time, but is well worth it.

Use mushrooms and a mixture of cheeses like cream cheese, smoked cheddar and parmesan to make the tastiest cheesy mushrooms.

Add onions, garlic or even red peppers.

Trust me, once you try them, you will make stuffed mushrooms time and time again.

13. English Muffin and Eggs

Yeah, you guessed it. This is the tuna version of a classic breakfast, eggs Benedict!

Place the steak on an English muffin (or a bread of your choice), top with a poached egg and pour a little sauce over it.

A typical recipe for eggs benedict with bacon or ham would use a hollandaise sauce, but if you’re not in the mood for that, you can also try a creamy lemon or parmesan sauce.

14. White rice, cucumber, carrot and nori

If you like your tuna steak seared perfectly, then this steak is for you! Think of it as naked sushi.

It’s the same ingredients, the same delicious sushi, but without the complicated packaging. Don’t forget the wasabi and soy sauce!
