That’s probably what I love most about fall. It’s apple season, pumpkins, pears and my favorite, acorn squash. Just thinking about the many fall dishes I can make with acorn squash is enough to tantalize my taste buds!

Acorn squash is so delicious, you can make it the star of your dish or use it as an ingredient in a side dish or dessert! You can bake it, roast it, steam it, even microwave it, and it still tastes great.

It also has endless uses! You can make it into soup or a sweet sauce, fill it with meat, rice or vegetables, make it into pasta, etc. And besides the fruits, you can even eat the seeds and flowers. You’re talking about versatility, right?

You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to fillets, side dishes and desserts associated with acorn squash. It’s about finding flavors and textures that complement or contrast the sweetness and softness of the vegetables.

But don’t worry, because acorn squash has such a mild flavor that it can easily be compared to a variety of meats, starches, vegetables and desserts.

But hey, if you don’t have time to serve something with acorns, you’re in the right place. Here are 14 delicious options that go perfectly with acorn squash.

1. Spaghetti

Acorn squash is full of fiber and nutrients. And while it’s a healthy dish, it’s unlikely to fill you up. Give acorns a starchy flavor by serving them with a classic sauce – spaghetti and marinara. The sweetness of the squash and the softness of the tomatoes go so well together!

Roast the acorn squash and cut it into cubes. Add it to your cooked pasta and you’re done!

You can also make a simple dressing of olive oil and garlic to coat the pasta with. Top with acorn squash cubes, tomatoes and onions. It’s lovely.

2. Pork meat

Because acorn squash is slightly sweet, it makes an excellent side dish for any kind of meat, including pork. So make some breaded pork chops for an easy but hearty dinner.

You can even combine your pumpkin with another fall product – apples – to make a delicious side dish for roasted pork. The combination of juicy meat and roasted pumpkin and apples is to die for.

3. Lamb

I love it. Darling Lamb. I love the bright, earthy flavor that no other meat has. I also love it with my other favorite, pureed acorn squash.

Here’s another perfect combination: roast chicken and roasted acorn squash. Not only are flavor and texture harmonized, but they can also be cooked at the same time, reducing cooking time. Two dishes, one oven. Fantastic.

Chop the squash with the onion and garlic and sprinkle with your favorite herbs and spices. Put them in the oven with the chicken and let the oven do its job.

5. Chicken and rice casserole

Speaking of chicken, here’s another delicious and savory dish meant to soothe. What I love about it is that it’s not only delicious, but it’s also very easy to make. It’s also a one-pan meal, so you don’t have to do much washing up after cooking.

To prepare the casserole, put the rice, onions, chicken broth and chicken soup in a casserole dish. Place the chicken thighs, skin side down, in the rice mixture and brush with butter. Season with thyme, garlic, salt and pepper.

Cover pan with foil and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes. And there you have it, a fantastic appetizer that goes well with acorn squash.

6. Taco Noodles

If you want a fusion of Mexican and Italian flavors with acorn squash, go for the taco paste! Don’t worry now, because it’s very easy to do.

All you have to do is season your minced meat with taco seasoning. Add canned tomatoes and cheese and you have a delicious pasta sauce!

7. Beef Goulash

The beef stew alone is ridiculously delicious, with its split meat and spicy broth. But it can’t hurt to supplement it, right? Add a few cubes of acorn squash to the mix for a sweet taste.

8. Brussels sprouts with bacon

Brussels sprouts are another fall produce that taste fantastic when cooked perfectly. However, it can have a slightly bitter taste. So if you’re not a fan, you can add a little sweetness by combining it with acorn squash.

And for even more flavor, add some bacon! Let them toast in the oven until caramelized. That’s great.

9. Honey glazed carrots

I usually roast carrots to bring out their natural sweetness, but there is another option. If you sprinkle them with honey and fry them in butter, you get a perfect, sweet and delicious dish in which the taste of the acorn squash comes out well.

If you don’t have honey on hand, don’t worry! Maple syrup or sugar can also be used.

10. Spinach salad with goat cheese

This salad is so easy to make, but how does it taste? Oh, my God! All you need for this phenomenal salad are 3 ingredients: Spinach, goat cheese and nuts. Simply mix these three elements together and dress with your favorite salad dressing or butter vinaigrette. I like it.

Although the salad already tastes great, you can add the roasted acorn squash to make it even more appetizing. You got any apples in there? Add them to the mix too for a sweet and crunchy surprise.

11. Blue cheese and pears

Pears are another fall fruit, so it’s not surprising that they taste just as good with acorns. Top the pear slices with a small slice of blue cheese and drizzle this irresistible dessert with honey.
